Moca Network Launches Moca Chain Mainnet For Digital Identity
(Originally posted on : Crypto News – iGaming.org )
Moca Foundation and Moca Network have launched the Moca Chain mainnet, giving Animoca Brands a live Layer 1 blockchain built around digital identity, verifiable credentials and privacy-focused data sharing.
Good to Know
- Moca Chain lets users carry verified credentials between applications without repeatedly sharing full identity documents.
- AIR acts as the business layer for identity, payments and loyalty on Moca Chain.
- The network targets both human users and AI agents that need verifiable permission to act on behalf of people.
Moca Chain Targets Repeated Identity Checks
Moca Chain focuses on a common problem across online services. Users often complete separate identity checks for exchanges, retailers, ticketing platforms and other services, leaving copies of personal information across multiple databases.
Under the Moca model, an approved organization can issue a digital credential after verifying information such as identity, membership status or eligibility. Another service can then check that credential without receiving the underlying documents.
Users retain control over which credentials they share. The network can also record updates or revocations, allowing connected applications to recognize changes without asking users to repeat the full verification process.
Moca Chain runs as an EVM-compatible Layer 1 built with Cosmos SDK and CometBFT. MOCA serves as the native gas token. The live network also supports W3C Verifiable Credentials, decentralized identifiers, SD-JWT VC and zero-knowledge proof verification.
AIR Brings Identity System To Businesses
AIR provides the main connection between companies and Moca Chain.
New players only. Exclusive Welcome Bonus of up to $2,500
A business can convert identity or customer checks it already performs into reusable credentials. It can also accept credentials from trusted third parties to reduce repeated onboarding checks.
The wider AIR product includes AIR Identity, AIR Money and AIR Loyalty, combining identity verification with payments, payouts and programmable rewards.
Current ecosystem partners include SK Planet, Biletinial, Oyunfor, Open Campus, OneFootball, Automobili Lamborghini, Inveo Kripto, Plume and Nansen.
Moca Network says its wider Animoca Brands ecosystem provides access to more than 600 portfolio companies and over 700 million addressable users. One existing partnership with Biletinial covers around 6 million active customers in Turkey, while SK Planet brings more than 28 million verified users.
AI agents form another part of the long-term plan. Moca Network wants users to give agents limited and revocable permissions, allowing businesses to verify who authorized an agent and what actions it can perform.
That agent authorization system remains on the roadmap rather than being fully available at mainnet launch.
Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, said:
“Users should not be forced to surrender sensitive personal information redundantly every time they use a new service and platform—not only is the process time-consuming and tedious, but it also stifles competition by erecting barriers to alternative merchants and providers, keeping users locked in to the platforms where they are already authenticated. As more and more AI agents navigate the digital economy on behalf of more and more people, Moca Chain is ideally positioned to provide individuals with sovereign ownership of their credentials, and to give businesses a mechanism that can establish trust without unnecessary data custody.”
Kenneth Shek, managing director of Moca Network, said:
“Moca Chain is the foundational infrastructure for availability of identity data and auditability of identity states. Scalable data sharing is necessary for AI agents to act on behalf of humans, however the trust framework for delegation and authority is lacking. In the past, platforms have compromised user privacy to enable agent automation. AIR solves this by keeping users in control of their data while enabling AI agents to execute tasks safely and seamlessly via secure, scalable, and privacy-preserved data sharing.”
