Strategy Builds Cash After Bitcoin Sales
Strategy has gone two weeks without buying or selling Bitcoin after selling 3,588 BTC for about $216 million under its new monetization programme.
The company added $225 million to its dollar reserve last week, following a $450 million increase one week earlier. Cash reserves now stand at $3.2 billion, while Bitcoin holdings remain unchanged at 843,775 BTC.
The sales support dividend payments and other corporate obligations. Chaitanya Jain, Head of Bitcoin Product and Investor Strategy at Strategy, said the dollar reserve covers about 1.8 years of dividends, while the Bitcoin reserve provides 31 years of coverage.
Strategy remains the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, with its BTC position worth about $54.9 billion at the reported market price.
However, the pause represents a clear change from the long-running accumulation model. Strategy spent years using equity and debt sales to buy more Bitcoin, but lower market valuations and rising dividend costs have placed greater focus on liquidity.
MSTR shares are down roughly 38% during 2026, although the stock gained more than 3% over the latest five trading days.
